Parents and Caregivers

We love partnering with moms, dads, grandparents and caregivers to develop a life-long love of reading in their kids.

Is your child reading at or above grade level?

Ask at the desk for specific recommendations or consult our booklists for more ideas. There are some great books in the young adult section that may be on your children's reading level and also be age-appropriate.

Is your child a struggling reader?
We'll work together to find shorter books, high-interest books, or fun non-fiction that will motivate your young reader. You might also try pairing audio books with the text to increase comprehension and fluency.

Is your child a reluctant reader?
Allowing your child to read what he or she is interested in will be a key to fostering that love of reading. Consider graphic novels, books their friends are reading, movie tie-ins and magazines.

For answers to specific questions, contact the library at (239) 479-INFO.
