Johann Fust Community Library

In 1950, Roger and Louise Armory of Boston, founded this private library and named it for Johann Fust, the financier of the Gutenberg press.   In 2012-2013, the library was renovated by funds raised by the Johann Fust Community Library Foundation.  In June 2013, it merged with the Lee County Library System.  Located on beautiful Gasparilla Island, the library has a unique setting.   A lovely garden and outside seating area is anchored by five library spaces: adult and young adult library; community information room; children’s library; media library (non-print collection and computers); and a rare book and reference library.  Eight public access computers, a public copier, wireless access, newspapers, magazines, self check machines and a circulating collection of 13,554 are available.

Go to the Johann Fust Library Foundation website.
