Lakes Regional Library
Lakes Regional Library opened in June 2005. This 40,000-square-foot facility is one of the Lee County Library System’s largest locations. Friendly, professional staff and a large “popular materials focused” collection totaling over 185,000 volumes make it one of the busiest branches in the system.
Many amenities are available to patrons, including a Friends’ Nook that offers used books and hot beverages for sale; a spacious audiovisual room complete with DVDs, CD books, music CDs and a Playaway collection; a Download Depot to use with your MP3 player; individual study rooms; a Story Garden; and a Storytime Room. Plenty of comfortable chairs are located near the windows and have a direct Internet connection with Ethernet through the lamps. There are over 40 computer workstations with Internet access and a wireless Internet connection available to those who want to bring their laptops. Outside the library are native flowers, trees, and shrubs that provide butterfly-friendly landscaping around the entire building. Learn about the library's Friends group of supporters.
