Lee County Bookmobile
The Lee County Bookmobile was purchased in 2008 for $280,795. At 36’2” long, 12’8” high and 8’6” wide, it is built on a Freightliner chassis and has a diesel engine and generator, a wheelchair lift, an awning and wireless computer connections. The Bookmobile's exterior features Everglades-inspired graphics which reflects the unique environment that exists in south Florida, and reminds us that the community is more than roads and buildings. More than 4,000 popular materials for people of all ages are available in the Bookmobile. They include books of all types, materials to help people who are learning English, magazines, DVDs and Spanish language materials.
