Firefighting Helicopter, Tractor and More at the Library

 

FORT MYERS, Fla., December 26, 2007- For three days, kids can learn what it’s like to fight wild fires with the Division of Forestry. Start by meeting Smokey the Bear and end your adventure by climbing into a real firefighting helicopter! Registration is required. To register, please call the library at 479-INFO.

Extreme Heroes: Smokey the Bear

This rugged little cub survived a raging forest fire and is now leading the fight to protect forests and the brush. Meet Smoky and some of his friends from the Division of Forestry, visit his cabin, and learn about how you can prevent forest fires!


Extreme Heroes: Wildfire Fighters

Our Extreme Heroes are back with their firefighting tractor and all of their gear! You'll have the chance to pose as a ranger after we learn more about the dangers and benefits of fire.

Are you ready for the big finish to our fire prevention event? The Extreme Heroes bring in their firefighting helicopter and you'll get to check out the cockpit! We will wrap up this special event with games and comics.
