Watch For the New Library Bookmobile!

 

Fort Myers, FL; November 24, 2008

 

The Lee County Library System continues its outreach activities with a new bookmobile beginning Monday, November 24.

 

This is the library system’s 4th bookmobile since the service began in 1965. The previous vehicle was used for 17 years and traveled over 173,000 miles.

The new vehicle is expected to provide at least 15 years of service.

 

You can’t miss the new bookmobile – it is 36’2” long, 12’8” high, and 8’6” wide. The exterior was designed by the library system’s Graphic Specialist and has a Florida theme.

 

Watch for it as it travels throughout the county on the library system’s website at www.leegov.com/library!

 

An official ribbon-cutting event for the new bookmobile will be held on Thursday, December 11 at the African Caribbean American Center (AFCAAM) at 3:00pm.
