Just In Time for Your Holiday Shopping

Fort Myers, FL; November 14, 2008 – The Lee County Library System’s Online Bookstore is now open for business!

The LCLS Online Bookstore offers you the opportunity to think locally when choosing to purchase a book, DVD or music CD for your personal library or as a gift. A portion of the profits from the LCLS Online Bookstore sales supports the Lee County Library System and The Southwest Florida Reading Festival.

“We know that many library users borrow books from the library AND purchase books for themselves, their families and friends,” said Deb Czarnik, Lee County Library System Manager for Technical Services.

“The Online Bookstore gives our users another option of library service when they don’t want to wait on long hold lists, or they want a convenient place to buy titles as gifts.  It’s also a great option for book club members who want to buy multiple copies of a title, and for community members who want to support the library.”

The LCLS Online Bookstore is backed by Baker & Taylor, a library materials distributor that does not sell directly to the public. Hardcover books are generally discounted by 16%; paperbacks, CDs and DVDs by 14%. Shipping options vary and credit card transactions are protected by SSL encryption technology to protect your personal information.

Do you need to buy a gift for your family or friends? Are you ready to purchase a copy of your favorite book, movie or recording for your own collection?  Consider using your purchasing power locally and support your library.
